Video Summary
This presentation details a case of secondary laparoscopic cytoreductive surgery for recurrent ovarian cancer in a 52-year-old Korean woman. Initially treated with laparoscopic primary optimal debulking surgery and 12 cycles of paclitaxel-carboplatin chemotherapy for FIGO stage 3c ovarian cancer, she was disease-free for six months. Recurrence was detected via elevated CA125 and PET-CT scans. Secondary surgery involved laparoscopic removal of metastatic lymph nodes and nodules, including diaphragm resection, omentectomy, and bowel repair. Postoperative chemotherapy continues with stable disease. The case demonstrates the feasibility of laparoscopic secondary cytoreduction following primary laparoscopic surgery in recurrent ovarian cancer.
