Video Summary
A 70-year-old woman with vulvar pruritus and a 2.5x1.5 cm vulvar mass underwent biopsy confirming invasive squamous cell carcinoma. Preoperatively, indocyanine green dye was injected around the tumor for sentinel lymph node mapping. Using a handheld near-infrared fluorescent imaging device, lymphatic drainage and sentinel nodes were visualized in real time. Guided by fluorescence, bilateral inguinal femoral sentinel lymph node biopsies and radical partial vulvectomy were performed, successfully removing three sentinel nodes on the right side. This technique allowed precise localization and removal of sentinel lymph nodes for cancer staging.
